Usage notes

Used in the sense of "grasp"/"grip", or "contain"/"store (something within)". The noun form is also found in the expressions tenboul (must-have — also an adjective) and teniles nend önslés (the haves and have nots).

This is also one of Relformaide's two proprietive case markers; the other one, zol, indicates ownership or possession of an item. Examples include ten tèze (with speed) and talentteni (with talent). Contrast with the comitative aseb, conjunctive auvek, and instrumental emek.

Antonym: ond (without/lacking). See also háben (maintain/uphold).

False friend of English ten, or dey in Relformaide.
